SPONGE OR MUD?

We often get asked whether our cakes are sponge cakes or mud cakes... And the answer is neither!

 

The best description of our cakes would be 'butter cakes' because they're more dense and moist

than a typical light and airy sponge cake but not as heavy as a classic mud cake,

so you really get the best of both worlds!

...Rich, moist, soft, buttery goodness.

We’ve matched each cake flavour with our recommended icing flavours,

but of course you're welcome to mix and match!

We also have VEGAN CAKE OPTIONS for all of our listed flavours 

(excluding our white chocolate cake and caramilk cake)

and we can cater to many specific dietary requirements,

including dairy free cakes, eggless cakes, soy free cakes and gluten free cakes.

Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too?

We have two different serving sizes to choose from to ensure you get just the right amount of cake for you and your guests.

Cake Anatomy by Super Ego Cakes

Please note that the portion sizes provided are based on a cake that is 4 inches/10cm tall and should be used as a guide only. If your cake is taller than 4 inches/10cms, the width of the portions may vary.

All wedding cakes will be sized according to our coffee/wedding portions unless otherwise specified. For all other events, sizes will be based on party/dessert portions.

SERVING SIZES

We can absolutely cater for smaller or larger servings when required!

​

Whilst coffee/wedding portions may not sound like a huge amount of dessert, keep in mind that wedding cakes are usually served after a 2-3 course meal or lots of canapés. So rest assured, these portions will generally be ample to satisfy!

 

You may also opt for coffee portions for other events if you are catering a lot of other food or additional desserts.
